AIminify offers compression of AI neural networks for use on computer vision models.
Compressing neural networks makes them run faster and consume fewer hardware resources, thus enabling them to run on a wider variety of devices. This advantage is especially important for Internet of Things applications.
AI engineers would rather not deal with the hassle of coding compression into their models. With AIminify, all they must do is add a single line of python to their projects.
AIminify is a subsidiary of Tinify, the producers of the TinyPNG image compression product.
While image/video compression and neural network compression for images and video are similar, they are in fact complimentary.
Compressing neural networks for computer vision models is especially useful for supporting AI inferencing on video feeds, for example, for live surveillance or manufacturing quality assurance applications. Image and video compression, in contrast, work on existing media files.
