An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Midio offers a visual low-code platform that supports collaboration among business users and Rust developers. It compiles the resulting applications into portable executables that can run in any containerized or server environment.
Midio’s interface follows a familiar ‘boxes and lines’ metaphor, where each box represents a node that executes a function. Functions can include custom integrations, AI agents, or other programmatic capabilities. Developers or business users can then build workflows by connecting nodes in the visual environment.
Midio provides several pre-built nodes and also supports the creation of nodes using the programming language Rust. In addition, Midio provides debugging capabilities, both for nodes and for workflows.
Unlike other low-code platforms that either run as declarative representations on the vendor’s platform or generate executable code, Midio generates compiled bytecode running on its own custom VM.
As a result, Midio applications can run in any container or server environment, either in Midio’s cloud environment or elsewhere. This portability addresses the lock-in constraints of many other low-code platforms.
