In adopting the DevOps culture change, testing is often the most impacted organisation. Developers write and automatically execute tests instead of an independent testing team, and successful test execution determines whether a CI/CD pipeline succeeds or fails.
Testkube is a vendor agnostic test orchestration platform designed to improve DevOps program (and other) test productivity and execution. Testing and development teams collaborate on defining what Testcube executes.
Testkube provides a control plane for executing any kind of test and running any kind of testing tool within a Kubernetes cluster and displays consolidated results on a dashboard.
The control plane manages test execution agents deployed as test runners in a Kubernetes namespace. Agents pull the latest version of the tests from the code repository (i.e. GitHub) and execute them in Docker containers.
Testkube provides out of the box orchestration workflows for popular testing tools, or lets you create your own workflows, such as orchestrating tests for multiple related microservices.
Workflows execute either within a CI/CD pipeline or outside of a pipeline, which creates a pre-pipeline validation step that can speed up the build process.
Test execution is not tied to any specific CI/CD tool, which supports multi-pipeline environments and simplifies migration from one CI/CD tool to another.
