An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
We last covered Akuity in April 2023. Akuity is the primary champion of the open-source project Argo, a popular suite of open-source tools for GitOps, including continuous integration and delivery or CI/CD, running DevOps workflows and managing clusters.
Akuity is now championing Kargo, an open-source project that delivers a continuous promotion orchestration layer that complements Argo.
Where Argo focuses on GitOps within a single Kubernetes namespace, Kargo provides application promotion across multiple clouds and regions via a higher-level package abstraction.
By leveraging this abstraction, developers can follow GitOps practices to deploy different versions of any application to different regions or clouds while following established guardrails, even though each environment may have its own software lifecycle.
