Confidencial scans documents in both on-premises and cloud-based volumes and data stores, identifies sensitive information within them as per policy, and encrypts the sensitive data within the documents for the eyes of designated recipients.
Confidencial automatically recognizes PII and can also recognize sensitive data as per common regulatory frameworks like PCI and HIPAA. Customers can also configure their own policies regarding sensitive data.
Confidencial’s field-level, selective encryption is its core, patented IP. Each document may have multiple encrypted fields which different people may decrypt based upon policy.
Documents retain their protections wherever they go, including outside the organization. Admins use the central Confidencial dashboard to control access to protected documents and to maintain audit records that track the movement and usage of those documents.
The platform uses generative AI to classify the sensitivity of documents and also to recognize context-sensitive levels of data sensitivity, for example, when protected IP or attorney-client communications appear in documents.
