AgilePoint: Extending Process-Centric Low-Code Platform to Agentic AI

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

We last worked with AgilePoint in May 2020 with a pandemic-oriented article.

Since that time, the company has leveraged its mature process-centric low-code platform to enable its customers to build and manage AI agents and agentic workflows.

The AgilePoint platform has always been metadata-based and model-driven. These architectural characteristics position it to support non-deterministic agentic behavior in the context of pre-built process workflows, thus focusing more on data-centric intelligence than deterministic automation.

One of AgilePoint’s original differentiators was its ability to support exceptions to process flows during production within the context of its low-code interface.

This capability proved to be an important source of training information for AI agents, which can handle exception tasks autonomously on behalf of users.

AgilePoint now comes with several pre-built agents and also provides a low-code interface for customers to build their own agents.

The platform’s agent orchestration capability can also work with third-party agents, building vendor-neutral agentic workflows.

Furthermore, immature protocols like MCP and A2A are optional, so security-sensitive customers don’t have to worry about such protocols’ weaknesses.
