Catchpoint manages a globally distributed network of internet performance monitoring agents that customers can run synthetic tests from, which correlate into an AI-powered analytics control plane that service owners and application teams can use to review live conditions and predict failures in order to troubleshoot errors, latency and regional disconnections.
Obviously, much has changed here since our last briefing in 2020. Many of the DEM (digital experience monitoring) vendors on the market then have been absorbed into much larger networking and observability suites. Since Catchpoint remains an independent vendor, their agent network can monitor global internet-side performance trends 24/7, without bias or dependency on specific cloud or infrastructure providers.
Much of the improvement here is in the ease of usability of the control plane itself, with AI filtering and correlating billions of streaming events and metrics into clear activity timelines and traffic flows with custom alert thresholds based on the user’s area of interest. Technical users will appreciate the ability to drill down into the IPM platform to review RUM, synthetic data and BGP network traces from any region or service endpoint for any time range, which can be fed into the customer’s observability and service management platforms of choice.
