Autonomy offers a cloud-based platform for creating, deploying, connecting, and scaling autonomous products based on AI agents. Its actor-based architecture enables developers to run up to millions of agents per container, offering immense vertical scalability (number of agents per customer) as well as the horizontal scalability expected from a PaaS offering.
Autonomy leverages the open-source Ockam secure connectivity toolkit under the covers to provide secure connections across hybrid endpoints. With this foundation, the Autonomy platform enables massive parallel processing and fine-grained persistence across agents.
By leveraging the combination of vertical scalability and secure connectivity, developers can create essentially unlimited numbers of AI agents, including ‘subagents’ that handle individual functions.
The Autonomy platform can handle agent state persistence at scale, enabling individual agents to retain memory-based learning – a core requirement for mature agentic systems that competing platforms don’t offer.
Autonomy is programming language agnostic and requires customers to deploy their agents in the Autonomy cloud (for now).
