An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
We’ve written many times about Gigamon, most recently in March 2024.
Gigamon has recently added a generative AI-based copilot to GigaVUE-FM, its network fabric manager.
GigaVUE-FM simplifies and automates the configuration, management, and operation of Gigamon’s deep observability pipeline, which gives operators visibility into the network-derived metadata at the heart of the company’s offering.
The copilot provides a natural language interface that enables operators to onboard, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Gigamon environments.
Gigamon has also announced Gigamon Insights, an agentic AI application the company built to enable security and ops teams to query network-derived telemetry, as well as other information from partners’ tools including Elastic, Splunk, and AWS.
Insights is LLM-agnostic and can also leverage the Internet-based training data in the various LLMs. One important use case: uncovering malicious ‘living off the land’ (LOTL) malware-free attacks that typically leverage compromised credentials to achieve bad actors’ lateral movement and exfiltration goals.
Gigamon’s network-derived insights can identify such attacks while other security solutions may miss them.
