An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
DronaHQ offers a mobile back-end middleware platform that includes a content management system, support for enterprise identity management, data encryption and offline synchronization, and a unified container app that simplifies the deployment of apps on mobile devices.
However, its platform wasn’t the focus of our recent briefing with the company. Instead, it’s rolling out a new low-code development environment called DronaHQ Studio, which is currently still in beta.
The Studio product offers the drag-and-drop simplicity and spreadsheet-like formulas that many low-code and no-code platforms offer.
It also takes a code generation approach, creating HTTP/JavaScript/CSS apps that customers can deploy in a variety of devices. As a result, updating an app requires a simple one-click rebuild to create the updated app ready for redeployment.
Perhaps DronaHQ Studio’s most important differentiator is its lightweight proprietary columnar database backend that works much like a spreadsheet. Citizen developers can simply create and access data in such databases without coding, and professional developers can set up databases simply, and integrate them with other applications via simple integration tools like Zapier.
