An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Data protection traditionally includes backup and restore capabilities for storage volumes, databases, and VMs. Trilio has reinvented such traditional data protection for the cloud, offering a tool that is agentless, self-service, multitenant, leverages open backup schemas, and is delivered via an as-a-Service model.
Trilio backs up all application data and metadata via ‘infinite’ incremental backups, thus offering ‘time machine’ capability that can restore individual workloads or entire environments to any particular state in the past.
Trilio initially worked with OpenStack. The company then added support for Red Hat Virtualization. Today, the company is adding data protection and versioning support for Kubernetes environments, starting with IBM RedHat OpenShift, offering the same ‘time machine’ capabilities configurable as a declarative entry in a Helm chart.
