An Intellyx BrainCandy Update
There are two facts when it comes to mainframes that are now nearly unassailable: it’s not going anywhere anytime soon, and organizations need to modernize it if they are to keep pace with market demands. Let’s face it, if the mainframe is host to business-critical data and sitting in the middle of business-critical processes, it’s going to be nearly impossible to compete in the Digital Era if you don’t make the mainframe a first-class part of the technology stack.
GT Software has a suite of software to help enterprises do just that — either by assisting them as they migrate some applications off the mainframe, or more commonly, by enabling them to rapidly and easily integrate the mainframe into the rest of the stack. To be clear, that’s not as easy as it sounds. Mainframe integration sounds like a single connection and process. In reality, however, integrating with a mainframe requires that you navigate and coordinate a complex set of interwoven (and often fragile) applications, datasets, and protocols — just to incorporate it into a single business process.
Dealing with this complexity is the company’s differentiator. In fact, it may be better to think of its solution as a mainframe abstraction and workflow orchestration layer that facilitates integration. Its platform has a built-in workflow engine that orchestrates the various calls that must be made to the different mainframe applications and components, and packages it up in a modern API for the rest of the stack. Best of all, organizations can create these complex, but abstracted integrations via the company’s no-code, visual drag-and-drop interface, which makes them easy to build and maintain.
