An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
OpsMx offers a continuous delivery meta-platform that wraps multiple open source and commercial tools with a “deployment firewall” to manage team collaboration and control the composition of a distributed cloud native software supply chain.
Most organizations would rather not constantly change out their DevOps tool chains. Unfortunately, by the time it seems like everything is working together nicely and features are flowing through release automation smoothly, one open source tool falls out of favor with the community for a shiny new one, or along comes an acquisition or partner dev team with their own tool chains and release methodologies.
When we previously covered OpsMx in 2023 and 2021, the open-core startup was building DevOps and GitOps automation atop the Spinnaker and Argo projects, and you can still use their platform engineering dashboard for that. However, somewhere along the way, they also realized that the dozens of tools that comprise the software supply chain of the CI/CD pipeline itself were also vulnerable to exploits and interdependencies, and thus added security posture management and compliance tooling to the mix.
