Resourcely provides blueprints and guardrails to simplify and govern Terraform and OpenTofu configuration files for infrastructure as code (IaC) applications, such as DevOps based cloud deployments.
Adopting DevOps typically involves adding new technologies, such as a modern code management system and a CI/CD pipeline to automate testing and deployment.
But adopting DevOps also involves a culture change, since cloud computing infrastructure uses APIs for configuring and provisioning services such as data storage and compute. In traditional IT terms, adopting DevOps requires developers to take the place of the operations team.
For most developers, configuring and provisioning infrastructure for their applications means additional cognitive load to understand what needs to be done, and additional effort to create and maintain IaC configuration files such as Terraform and OpenTofu.
Resourcely’s blueprints simplify the additional work by setting up and managing an organization’s library of predefined configuration templates, and enforce an organization’s infrastructure policies using the guardrails. Guardrails also help prevent misconfiguration errors, incidents, and outages.
Resourcely is planning support for other configuration formats. They are also developing a third capability called “Campaigns” to assess existing deployments for conformance to guardrails and remediate any drifts from the guardrails.
Resourcely executes between GitHub and the Terraform or OpenTofu runner in the CI/CD process to implement the blueprints and apply the guardrails.
