Cerebras: Blowing GPU Performance out of the Water with Massive ‘Wafer Scale’ Chip

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

One of the primary constraints limiting the performance of the GPUs that power most AI applications today is the time it takes for the chips to interact with each other.

To address this problem, Cerebras offers a massive chip that offers 20x the performance of Nvidia’s B200 GPU.

Cerebras’s WSE-3 chip is massive across all metrics: 4 trillion transistors (compared to the B22’s 208 billion) providing 28x the petaflops and a blistering 2,625x the on-chip SRAM.

Cerebras includes the WSE-3 chip in a full-stack offering purpose-built for AI workloads, as well as training and inference clouds that provide massive performance improvements across all popular LLMs on the market.
