WitnessAI: Adding Customer and Agentic Usage of AI to Governance Platform

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

When we last covered WitnessAI in November 2024, the AI governance market was just ramping up as enterprises struggled to figure out what AI governance meant to them.

At the time, WitnessAI offered a proxy-based solution that helped organizations govern employee usage of external LLM-based applications.

Today, WitnessAI also helps enterprises govern external user usage of internal LLM-based applications as well as agentic access to enterprise data and tooling.

While other AI governance vendors cover one or two of these use cases, WitnessAI stands out for offering all three.

The WitnessAI platform also includes a sophisticated user intent classification capability that can not only discern malicious intent, but also user-specific intent that customers can create policies for.

For example, a company may set a policy that only members of the legal team can create or modify contracts. WitnessAI can enforce such a policy across any LLM-based application an employee might use.

The company is also ramping up an OEM offering of the policy creation and enforcement part of its offering as an embeddable library, separate from its network-level visibility capabilities.

This offering will enable enterprise application vendors to leverage WitnessAI technology to build AI governance into their applications.
