An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Akave Cloud provides software that enables enterprises and service providers to run their own Amazon S3-compatible storage clouds in different locations, thus offering both data sovereignty as well as localized control of applications and their data.
Akave also offers zero egress fees and a pricing model that competes well with the hyperscaler clouds. In the US, in fact, Akave provides a SaaS offering for low-cost object storage.
In Europe and elsewhere, the sovereign capabilities of Akave-based clouds are more important, as enterprises and government organizations want to protect their data from the US government, as per the U.S. CLOUD Act.
The U.S. CLOUD Act compels US-based companies to provide data to the US government, even when those data are located outside the US.
Akave also leverages a blockchain-based distributed ledger to offer immutable audit trails and to coordinate transactions among its partners. This immutable governance combined with end-to-end encryption offers customers and partners data integrity and provenance.
