An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
When we last covered VEXXHOST in May 2019, it offered fully managed private clouds based upon the OpenStack cloud infrastructure platform.
OpenStack is still central to the VEXXHOST offering, but now it runs the platform on an underlying Kubernetes administration and orchestration layer on bare metal hardware.
VEXXHOST then runs Kubernetes on top of OpenStack for a remarkable ‘sandwich’ approach that provides full upstream Kubernetes that can run either hosted or on-premises.
The VEXXHOST platform is fully open-source and also includes Ceph distributed storage, the MigrateKit VMware migration tool, and Zuul CI/CD tooling.
