An Intellyx RSAC 2026 Update Brief
At RSAC 2026, Island demonstrated a secure web browser that gives a distributed workforce of employees and agents a common workspace with fine-grained access and behavioral controls, data layer protection, and customizable local endpoint and external service observability.
Some of you reading this remember working in a corporation, where you had to Citrix in to some slow, decrepit desktop instance of Oracle timesheets running on Internet Explorer over Windows95 on a VM somewhere. This is the polar opposite of the kind of experience humans need today, especially as they start to leverage desktop and SaaS apps alongside AI agents and models that can exhibit unexpected usage and data sharing behaviors if given free reign.

Island took a Chromium-based browser – and built inside of it a bespoke organizational application infrastructure with local thick app access, network fencing and permissions. Then, they extended the boundary with a secure web gateway and encryption to include external apps and services with local and external policy enforcement to protect user and agentic AI sessions and data.
“Think of it as a secure enclave, inside of which, your business applications and sensitive data lives. You have access to internal and external apps, but the organization can control how data moves. So we govern everything from the way data leaves, to how it enters, which is what we call last mile control,” said Michael Leland, VP and Field CTO, Island.
