Cloud. Cloud-based. Cloud-native.
There’s something you should know. Many companies are labeling their product as “cloud,” even when it isn’t. In an article on Forbes, Jason Bloomberg refers to this practice as “cloud washing.” He states:
Cloudwashing typically refers to vendors’ and service providers’ exaggerated marketing, where they label a product as “Cloud” even when such designation is either completely false or at best, jumping the gun on a future capability.
Why would they do that?
Everyone wants to be cloud. Cloud products are cutting edge, use the most advanced technology and are built to function solely in the cloud. These products are called “cloud-native.” They offer all the benefits of the cloud like stability, scalability, and easy maintenance.
