An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
One of the knottier challenges for enterprises as they implement hybrid cloud strategies is identity and access management (IAM). Enterprises typically implemented IAM solutions on-premises, and public clouds offer their own alternatives.
Bringing these disparate IAM solutions together requires a single sign-on (SSO) tool – and enterprises usually have one of those as well, for example, CA Single Sign-On, previously known as SiteMinder.
The problem is, SiteMinder is an older technology, and thus is not particularly cloud friendly. IDF Connect solves this problem by offering CA SSO-compatible agents that run in the cloud, allowing enterprises with the older SSO product to leverage their existing SSO infrastructure run the IDF connect agents as if they were CA SSO agents in the enterprise data center.
Furthermore, IDF connect allows CA SSO customers to run the SSO product in the cloud as a service.
At this time, IDF Connect only works with the CA SSO product, but it has plans to extend the offering to other enterprise SSO products as customer demand warrants.
