Cognitive Software Robots from Loop AI Labs Harvest “Dark Data” to Automate Business Processes

Most enterprise organizations have thousands of knowledge workers who use structured data to make decisions and execute business processes. In doing so, they use a wealth of other information to perform their function — things like past experience, unwritten rules, and institutional knowledge.

AI companies call this unstructured information “dark data.” Loop AI Labs believes that as much as 90% of the information used by enterprise knowledge workers is, in fact, dark data — and their aim is to harvest it, combine it with an organization’s existing structured data and use the combination to create cognitively-enabled applications that will automate business processes and decision making.

Loop AI Labs is a leader in a developing part of the AI market called Robotic Process Automation. Their unique approach does not require an army of data scientists or heavy “training” of the AI platform. Instead, they create a “software robot” (it exists only in software form) for each customer “from scratch.”

Discerning patterns from historical data and business process activities, the software robot creates a logic model for the organization’s business processes. Utilizing that model, they can then automate a large portion of an organization’s business processes and decision-making demands. The results can represent significant operational gains in productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.
