Duo Security provides software that confirms the identity of mobile users via strong multifactor authentication. In addition, Duo offers security ‘hygiene’: verifying the health of each device (free from malware, apps at most recent version) before allowing connections to enterprise services.
You can think of Duo’s product a light version of Mobile Data Management (MDM). However, MDM solutions typically require users to install an agent on their devices to provide a secure endpoint that admins can control, for example, to perform a remote wipe of the device.
For organizations with a ‘bring your own device’ (BYOD) policy, remote wipe capabilities are often overkill. For those firms, Duo offers an alternative that also has a particularly usable interface.
