ISARA: Empowering Cybersecurity Vendors to Offer ‘Quantum Safe’ Cryptographic Solutions

Modern public key infrastructure (PKI) cryptographic algorithms rely upon one basic mathematical fact: it’s far easier to multiply large numbers together than to take a product of two such numbers and factor it.

In the nascent field of quantum computing, however, quantum computers can in theory factor large numbers much more quickly than conventional means, thus opening up the possibility that in the not too distant future, modern PKI algorithms won’t be adequate.

ISARA is addressing this problem by building out ‘quantum safe’ encryption approaches that leverage different algorithms that quantum computers cannot crack quickly – at least, based upon current theoretical models of what quantum computers will be able to do.

Core to ISARA’s offering, furthermore, is the ability to switch out one quantum safe algorithm for another, should new developments in the mathematics for either quantum computing or post-quantum cryptography require.

In the meantime, ISARA provides OEM partners with software that enables such vendors to offer quantum safe products to verticals like government and healthcare that are particularly sensitive to the long-term reliability of their cryptography-based confidentiality.
