Cohesity: Solving the Problem of Fragmented Secondary Storage

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Secondary storage is all the storage across an enterprise without a mission-critical SLA. For example, backup storage, storage for test/dev, data warehouses, storage for archiving, etc. – essentially, any storage in data centers or the cloud outside of the mission-critical transactional storage that supports the core of the business.

Cohesity offers a centralized, scalable approach for managing secondary storage that deduplicates files and facilitates moving storage capacity around, both on-premises and between on-prem and the cloud.

Cohesity works with backup technology to ensure the security of backups and to facilitate the restore from backup process. It also manages cloud-based backup solutions like Amazon Glacier.

The Cohesity platform leverages hyperconverged servers, providing low-cost horizontal scalability and resilience.
