Most companies need some self-help when it comes to a common problem I call ‘data hoarding’ — the massive collection of shared and local files, and multiple versions and copies of files that can become a business liability far beyond the cost of storage.
Doc Authority has built a very specialized AI that they say performs one function very well: it categorizes these files, identifies ownership and helps to either secure them with permissions for the right groups of people, or disposes of them if they present a potential privacy, policy or security risk.
With so many enterprises wrestling with managing all their existing data amidst growing privacy concerns and regulations such as GDPR, such compliance processes should never be forgotten, even if many of the potentially risky or confidential files in question should be.
