Meta Networks: Zero-Trust Software-Defined Perimeter

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Everybody hates virtual private networks (VPNs). They’re difficult to use, flaky, and they provide limited, binary access to internal network resources.

Meta Networks delivers a next-generation replacement for VPNs that consists of a software-defined perimeter delivered as a network-as-a-service (NaaS)-based service mesh.

The company has implemented dozens of multitenant points of presence in clouds and data centers around the world, supporting secure remote access for employees, contractors, partners, and customers for both enterprises and managed service providers.

In addition, such access is policy-driven and as fine-grained as the organization requires, thus providing access only to authorized resources.

The result is a zero-trust ‘always-on VPN’ experience that provides both improved security and customer experience over the hated traditional VPN.
