Bpm’online: A customer-driven low-code partner development ecosystem

Bpm’online is one of those rare breeds of work automation vendors whose bite is more powerful than its bark.

You may not have heard of this 100% privately held, bootstrapped, oddly-named company, but they arose rapidly from their CRM foundations to create contextual workflow application design solutions that are in use at thousands of name-brand companies and a global ecosystem of hundreds of delivery partners.

It must be this extensibility for partner uses that has made them as successful as they have been, competing for analyst recognition against SaaS platform players like Salesforce, despite not being a household name or having famous VC backers.

Their BPM Enterprise Studio product suite allows teams to collaboratively build low-code applications, with digital processes and workflows that leverage customer data, not just for the core SFA and marketing functions you expect, but for the support and fulfillment of complex work processes.

Citing ease of use and adoption as the key drivers of its success, Bpm’online offers a freemium version of its Studio for entry-level experimentation, large component and API libraries for rapid development of browser-based and mobile apps, and the ability to buy their suite as a managed SaaS, or deployed on AWS or Azure clouds, or in on-premises environments.
