Bizagi: Putting intelligent automation on the line

Bizagi isn’t interested in building app builders, nor selling software that fits into a particular technology category. While their offering spans the realms of BPM and DPA, RPA, AI and even some Low-Code/No-code spaces, this company resolutely describes itself in more of a global sense in delivering the value of automation for a better world.

“A technology-centric approach is not how you transform a company, and you don’t get the value of automation by giving developers another tool for generating apps,” said Bizagi CEO and founder Gustavo Gomez. “If you first unify the business and IT on a common language for business processes — it’s the communication that gives them a huge step forward. Exciting stuff comes out to meet customer needs you never anticipated.”

One example discussed was a large retail firm that accelerated the process for getting a store credit card from several days of reviews to less than a minute in some cases, allowing stores to make personalized discount offers for customers buying on their newly minted cards by the time they get to the point of sale.

Combined enterprise teams absorb, model and automate business processes using the Bizagi system, which then applies intelligent automation for removing or deferring all airgaps where manual labor, data movement and unnecessary workflow steps occur. A mobile-friendly customer UX is presented for the resulting process.

Rather than selling software licenses for process design and automation tools by the seat, or charging companies on a per-bot basis like some RPA vendors, Bizagi only charges customers by volume based on the number of automated transactions completed.

“We want our sales to be aligned with value delivery,” said Gomez. “But this also enables agile experimentation. If you design an MVP and fail, you can shelve it inexpensively, but if it works, you can scale it up to roll out quickly for customers.”
