Software test automation has long suffered from a Catch-22: regardless of how you build test scripts, you need to test them as well.
Hand-written test scripts are the most likely to have problems, take time to create, and require ongoing maintenance. Automatically-generated test scripts are less likely to have quality issues themselves, but provide less coverage as a rule than hand-written ones and still require ongoing maintenance.
Appvance uses AI (primarily machine learning) to rethink this entire approach to test automation. Starting with a small number of hand-written tests and a set of hints for the AI algorithms, Appvance can generate many thousands of test scripts automatically by learning directly from the subject software and user behavior.
