SempTech: Bringing Google Blockly to the Low-Code Marketplace

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Google Blockly is a client-side JavaScript library for creating block-based visual programming languages and editors. SempTech is bringing to market SNAP, which is a commercial low-code platform that leverages Blockly for building web sites and mobile apps.

SNAP simplifies the process of building JavaScript-driven user interfaces that take advantage of the modern browser document object model. Its sweet spot is creating form-based front-end applications that require some level of complexity.

Today, SNAP integrates with back-end services via RESTful APIs and SOAP-based Web Service calls, thus putting it at a disadvantage with competing products that offer pre-built, drag-and-drop connectors. Nevertheless, customers will appreciate the ease-of-use of the Blockly interface.
