ColorTokens: Delivering Zero-Trust security through microsegmentation

Enterprises can select from hundreds of tools for preventing security breaches, from perimeter defense via firewalls and secure network fencing, to various authorization and token schemas, encryption, and file filters.

But in today’s complex hybrid IT world of often stateless services and ephemeral infrastructure, with workloads reflexively running in clouds or on-premises, Zero-Trust has emerged as a must-have requirement for the security bill-of-materials. With so many constantly changing, moving parts and parties involved, enterprises must adopt a posture of distrust-by-default to survive a determined attack.

ColorTokens is a rapid-growth zero-trust security vendor that has applied extremely detailed microsegmentation capabilities to this problem. Think of microsegmentation as security ‘containment gates’ that can instantly drop around any perceived threat or unknown activity, or close off any critical process or group from outside interference or change.

Obviously, no number of security professionals could manually build, much less identify, all the systems, services, user groups, apps and endpoints that could use their own microsegmentation thresholds for safety in any reasonably sized application environment.

ColorTokens answers this with a slick auto-discovery mechanism for mapping all message and data interrelationships, so DevOps and security professionals can simply define dynamic, policy-based segments for separating good, whitelisted behaviors from unknown or unauthorized traffic and user activity, thereby denying hackers and rogue processes the ability to move laterally or communicate outside the lockdown.
