Fiorano: Bringing Modernization to Banking with Cloud-Native Middleware

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

I last wrote about Fiorano Software in November 2014. The company’s deep expertise with middleware and APIs continues, but most everything else has changed.

Today, Fiorano is focusing on the banking industry, especially in the UK and Europe where the Open Banking initiative is driving modernization and innovation across the industry.

In addition to Open Banking and its concomitant PSD2 support, Fiorano offers API-first, real-time digital banking, composable banking that leverages microservices, and ISO 20022 and payments support.

The company has revamped its ESB technology from the 2000s, positioning it as part of a comprehensive Kubernetes-based integration and modernization platform that handles API mediation and management. As a result, Fiorano can expose legacy banking functionality following the cloud-native principles of scale and frequent change.

Given that both the ISO 20022 global payment messaging standard and the PSD2 open banking standards are mandated by regulation, Fiorano has found a willing and eager market for its wares.
