Honeycomb: Supporting Site Reliability Engineers with High-Cardinality Observability

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Honeycomb offers a modern observability platform that supports the service-level objectives (SLOs) that site reliability engineers (SREs) use to understand the business-centric priorities that drive incident management and resolution.

Honeycomb gives SREs the ability to drill down into any relevant logging, monitoring, or trace information – or any other system telemetry – in order to identify information relevant to resolving issues that impact end-users of applications and services under management.

In particular, Honeycomb deals well with high cardinality challenges, namely those incidents that deal with large numbers of microservices, VMs, or other components of today’s complex IT ecosystems.
