Adding to it, the code suggested by Copilot isn’t the best possible approach to solve a problem. Copilot has been trained on code that is available on GitHub. Since only less than 1% of the total open-source contributors are pro-programmers, Copilot hasn’t been trained on best possible code. It is like being taught by an average teacher (not the best). So, the code suggested by Copilot are often not the optimized solution to a problem.

Here is a quote on GitHub copilot by Jason Bloomberg, an analyst at Intellyx-

“In my opinion, the most interesting thing about Copilot is that it typically generates original code — that is, code that is not represented verbatim in the training data,” he said. “People have to remember, however, that it is entirely unable to write creative code. Creativity — for now — is still in the hands of humans. So, is using Copilot pair programming? Only if you don’t mind that one of the two programmers isn’t creative.”
