Arrcus Connected Edge: A Converged Software-driven Platform to Make Enterprises “Edge-Native”

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

While we’ve been talking about the so-called “edge” for a while, its importance is becoming ever more clear as organizations realize its criticality in creating advantage through experiential differentiation and operational optimization. Whether it is delivering omnichannel experiences in retail, using AI to power analytics and inference in financial trading actions, or deploying modern automation on the factory floor, the ability to execute seamlessly between the edge, the data center, and the cloud is now essential.

At the center of that connection is the network — the very thing that has become the weak link for most enterprises. Arrcus’ has developed its Connected Edge platform to help enterprises and telcos close this loop. The Connected Edge Platform is an integrated set of software that runs on top of existing network infrastructure to create a converged management and orchestration layer. Bringing together communications and compute, and then adding a layer of deep analytics, it transforms a disparate group of technologies (multi-vendor hardware, cloud environments, and distributed edge components) into a cohesive and unified network platform.

The company claims that by doing so, it is able to lower management costs while delivering hyperscale performance and scale to create what it calls “the power of one” in the form of a simple-to-manage network and a scalable architecture to deliver a “seamless experience.” The result, according to the company, is a platform that serves as a bridge, providing enterprises the flexibility, multi-dimensional capabilities, and dynamic connections they need to compete and win in today’s marketplace.
