An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
The Intellisys platform from EvolveWare can extract business logic from legacy applications, convert that logic to XML-based metadata, and then convert those metadata into any of several modern languages, as well as pseudocode, flowcharts, and design tables.
Intellisys is neutral with respect to the source platform and can convert program code written in many different languages.
Intellisys creates code that is functionally identical to the source (that is, can pass all the same tests). The tool then goes further, recognizing specific coding patterns and enriching the converted code with them in order to provide more complete, readable code.
EvolveWare’s most important differentiation is how it can extract business rules from source code, transforming them into a metadata representation that modern rules engines can interpret.
Developers can then code new workflows that incorporate those rules, enabling organizations to leverage legacy business rules assets that were otherwise buried within intractable codebases.
