Aeris: Software-driven IoT networking, security & performance layers

An Intellyx BrainCandy Update

Aeris is delivering a software-based network platform for securing and controlling the global swarm of IoT (Internet-of-Things) devices that seems to be proliferating into every connected aspect of our personal and work lives.

Since our last coverage of Aeris in 2019, the company has kept its core engineering inventions for IoT connectivity in multiple form factors, everything from low-power, low bandwidth sensors and smart tags, to very high-powered, communication-intensive applications like smart cars and traffic cameras.

Their story has evolved into a complete network and security platform for developers to integrate applications with compact hardware, starting with their eSIM capability that can hot-swap connection profiles on devices, and network-wide security operations and performance management tools that can function at the capillary level of a broadly distributed and heterogeneous network.

End customers and the public need not know how devices can magically deliver location-aware experiences. However, service providers and network operators seeking to get their arms around the hard problems of managing and securing distributed devices in the context of Hybrid IT and modern 5G edge networks without massive custom development efforts have already taken notice.
