EPIC iO recently merged its two subsidiaries, IntelliSite and Broad Sky Networks, in order to provide an integrated IoT suite that combines connectivity and AI-supported IoT data capabilities.
The combination of connectivity and data-centric capabilities is unusual.
Most IoT vendors either focus on the network and device aspects of the IoT, centering on performance and latency benefits. Other vendors leverage AI to help customers process IoT data to extract insights that provide business value.
By assembling both sets of capabilities, EPIC iO is delivering more than an integrated solution. The company’s goal is to bring together insights from across disparate IoT applications and data types (say, for smart cities) in a way that provides holistic value across applications and differing infrastructure elements.
EPIC iO’s architecture is cloud native, and the company provides a cloud-based as-a-service offering that can run in public or private clouds, as well as on-premises for those customers with strict data privacy requirements.
