An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
When we last covered Camunda in September 2019, it was building out Zeebe, the open source foundation for its cloud native business process management and orchestration platform.
Today, Camunda offers its flagship product, Camunda Platform 8. Unlike competitors who are shoehorning legacy technology into Kubernetes in the hopes of achieving cloud native benefits, Camunda has built its current platform from the ground up following cloud native principles.
The result is process orchestration at massive scale across people, systems, and devices. The company sees this universal, cross-domain process orchestration as essential for digital transformation – and to be sure, it is a necessary (but not sufficient) requirement for such transformation.
Camunda continues to leverage BPMN to provide a common ground for developers and business stakeholders to communicate about process requirements.
While this BPMN tooling provides low-code simplicity and collaboration, the real work of building orchestrations falls to developers, who can work with Camunda APIs in Java, Go, Node.js, Python, or C#.
