When we last covered Virtana in December 2020, its focus was on analyzing on-premises workloads to optimize the cost and performance of migrating them to the cloud.
Today, cloud migration is but a small part of the company’s offering. Virtana offers a platform for optimizing performance, capacity, and cost management for workloads in the cloud and on-premises.
Virtana refers to its platform as a multi-cloud insights platform, offering shared platform services for high-fidelity data collection, automated discovery, dependency mapping, and machine learning-based anomaly detection.
Of these capabilities, the high-fidelity collection is the best differentiated. Virtana’s platform collects hundreds of metrics at one-second intervals, far more frequently than competing products.
The result is improved mean time to recovery (MTTR) for customer infrastructure, as well as lowered cloud costs and improved cloud utilization.
