Onehouse: One data lakehouse to share them all?

Onehouse Intellyx BC logoAn Intellyx Brain Candy Update

When we first visited with Onehouse just a year ago in 2022, the startup was emerging onto the market with its performance-tuned and managed data lakehouse built upon the open source Apache Hudi project.

What’s new now, other than another funding round announcement, is their Onetable offering which acts as a horizontal interoperability layer for data integration among multiple leading data lakes, warehouses and metadata catalogs.

There are already plenty of enterprise installations and application-specific customizations of Databricks and Snowflake, and their underlying Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg open metadata layers out there, so a neutral approach can ease switching risks while easing data ingestion and the adoption of future machine learning and analytics use cases.

Onehouse’s low-code style lakehouse management interface allows users to manage platform-native query and compute workloads against existing platforms, while improving the cost/value ratio of new data functions though drastically reduced data migration times and improved pipeline performance.
