SIOS: Hybrid Cloud High Availability and Disaster Recovery for SAP HANA

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

When we last covered SIOS in November 2021, it focused on high availability (HA) clustering and failover for enterprises in the process of migrating enterprise databases and applications to the cloud.

Today, the story is fully hybrid, as enterprises leverage both on-premises and cloud-based environments in their HA strategies.

SIOS now offers a multitarget replication feature for SAP HANA that supports up to four nodes in two regions, either on-premises or in a cloud.

This new capability allows for synchronous system replication and failover within a single data center or cloud, combined with asynchronous system replication to a separate region or cloud.

Because SIOS supports more than two nodes, it can automatically reconfigure the replication architecture as needed in the event of failure so that the remaining nodes remain HA while operators restore the failed node.

This multitarget capability works with SAP HANA 2.0 SP5/SP6 and SAP S/4HANA 2022, as well as various flavors of Linux.
