Elastic: Flexing the real-time data observability boundary

Elastic in Intellyx Brain CandyAn Intellyx BrainCandy Update

Since our last coverage of Elastic in January 2020, this company has expanded significantly on its now ubiquitous enterprise search and SIEM capabilities with new features for extracting value from real-time data, especially in capturing and interpreting telemetry data across clusters and regions from a variety of sources for observability.

While the original open building blocks for search, data schema and OpenTelemetry are still under the covers, the application suite boasts a new management dashboard for security and full-stack analytics, and a library of machine learning features for anomaly detection, custom alerts and correlation of the root causes of failures all the way down to individual traces.

Additional streamlining on high-volume data storage policies also allows customers to watch costs and run near-real-time workloads with inexpensive cold storage that reconstitutes at the rate of some pricier hot storage offerings on the market.
