An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
Since our last briefing with Calyptia in 2022, they have enhanced the ease and flexibility of setting up and adjusting optimization rules for handling a fleet of ‘first mile’ telemetry data pipelines and routing data to any number of observability and security destinations and data warehouses.
Software architecture sounds like a high-minded discipline, until you start messing with the often opaque plumbing that moves active data from production to rather costly destinations. Calyptia created their telemetry data management solution atop the very widely used open source Fluent Bit and fluentd projects, and this gives them a front-row seat to filter data streams at their point of ingress.
Their Calyptia Cloud service offers a simpler low-code management interface, as well as a new ChatGPT input feature to declaratively set up and adjust pipelines and policies, though most interactions will be API-based in practice. Fleets of telemetry optimization pipelines can also now be run remotely for sensitive data handling scenarios and airgapped environments.
