Claroty: Protecting Cyber Physical Systems on the IoT with Microsegmentation

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Claroty addresses the security issues of devices on the Extended Internet of Things (xIoT) with network microsegmentation that encapsulates the devices.

Claroty focuses on critical infrastructure (power utilities, petrochemical, healthcare, etc.) and in particular, older devices with proprietary protocols that may be difficult or impossible to update.

Claroty inventories its customers’ devices to provide a vulnerability analysis and associated risk management strategies.

Sometimes the devices are so critical that an organization can’t afford to take them down to update firmware or certificates.

By isolating such devices on the network, Claroty is able to provide the control and security that enterprises require, even for their oldest IoT equipment.

Claroty works with the manufacturers of many types of IoT devices, both to understand their proprietary protocols as well as to help its partners build more secure devices.
