Since we last covered Avassa in September 2022, the company has increased its focus on the management of edge-based applications.
Instead of leveraging Kubernetes, Avassa built its cloud native edge platform from the ground up to support the special characteristics of the edge, including limited hardware resources, intermittent networks, and the wide geographic distribution of endpoints.
The result is a platform well-suited for running edge-based applications of all sorts, from AI-heavy visual surveillance to logistics use cases with vast numbers of mobile sensors.
Avassa works hand-in-hand with MLOps vendors to provide full-lifecycle operationalization of edge-based applications.
In particular, Avassa offers edge-centric monitoring and observability – fulfilling requirements that traditional back-end observability technologies are ill-suited for.
