Edgeworx: Management Control Plane for Edge Computing and other Distributed Workloads

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

When we last covered Edgeworx in July 2019, the company was focused on leveraging cloud native principles for edge computing use cases.

Today, Edgeworx offers a cloud-based management control plane for edge computing nodes as well as workloads running on a variety of other distributed on-premises systems.

The control plane runs in the cloud and is a recent addition to the Google Cloud Marketplace. In addition, Edgeworx offers data plane technology that provides secure, network-independent routing between edge nodes.

The Edgeworx technology works with any hardware platform and container orchestrator. For customers who find Kubernetes is ill-suited for their edge deployments, Edgeworx provides an essential management layer.

The company’s hardware independence works well for companies deploying GPUs at various locations – a trend that will only continue to explode as AI takes hold in the enterprise.
