Auristor: Adding Container Accelerator to Global Distributed File System

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

When we last spoke with Auristor in May 2021, the company discussed its cloud-ready distributed file system with a global namespace, based upon the open-source Andrew File System (AFS).

In the intervening time, Auristor has matured this file system, improving its performance and scalability.

In addition, the company has rolled out the Auristor Container Accelerator, which can load individual binaries into containers as needed across the distributed file system.

Normally, containers load all application binaries before initializing, taking time as well as bandwidth. With the accelerator, containers can launch applications more quickly, serving only those binaries the application requires at the moment.

The Container Accelerator includes the Auristor File System client, thus facilitating the upsell to the entire file system.
