AccuKnox provides a comprehensive cloud native security solution for Kubernetes and VM hosted applications, based on the KubeArmor open source project, which AccuKnox maintains.
In the cloud, AccuKnox deploys as a set of daemons in Kubernetes clusters. The daemons leverage eBPF for network security and Linux Security Modules for access control.
AccuKnox uses whitelisting to restrict network access to the Kubernetes cluster. Organizations use the product in observation mode to identify which traffic they want to permit, and then run the product in blocking mode to block all other traffic.
The daemons are connected in what AccuKnox calls a “security mesh,” sharing information about attacks and preventing breaches from spreading. AccuKnox provides runtime protection against misconfigurations and other security policy violations.
The control plane sets and pushes out security policies to the mesh and displays application telemetry, alerts, and events.
AccuKnox recently launched an AI co-pilot to help recommend policies and analyze events. They also offer deployment options for data center and hybrid infrastructure.
